- All tutors are expected to behave with the upmost professionalism.
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject area.
- Promote active learning through methods that help student-athletes understand and remember difficult content.
- Tutors must come prepared for each scheduled session as it is a sign of respect for the student-athletes and the academic support program.
- Report the student-athlete’s preparation for sessions whether positive or negative.
- Keep a copy of your Tutoring Handbook to reference to.
- Provide your concise tutoring report within 24 hours after the session.
- Make sure your Teamworks/Teams calendar is always up-to-date.
- Cancellations need to be communicated 24 hours in advance.
- Log in hours worked daily, if this isn’t done, it will cause a delay with payroll.
- Your notes may only be used as a resource for your tutoring and to make a study guide for your student-athletes.
- Never use a session to work on homework problems or assignments that will be graded.
- Peer tutors are not permitted to provide writing or English support, SA should be referred to their academic support staff.
